Riley and Fletcher

Hi everyone and hope you are well! Just following up with some words and pics on the two pups that remain from Chloe’s litter–Riley and Fletcher.  They’re doing great and have now joined me on the simpler chores of the farm–typically filling water for poultry and sheep.  They still nurse a bit but have shownContinue reading “Riley and Fletcher”

Chloe’s 2018 Pups

Okay–FINALLY–getting to posting these pics that were taken earlier in the week of Chloe’s eight pups.  So sorry–and thank you all for your patience. The reason there are multiple pics of Riley, Brady and Fletcher is–honestly–they look so similar and their differentiations are in such odd spots that I and others are still kinda trainingContinue reading “Chloe’s 2018 Pups”

English Shepherd puppies!

Chloe’s new pups are growing beautifully!  They are just starting to open their eyes.  She had 5 pups, 3 male and 2 female.  All but 1 of the females are already spoken for.  If you would like to be considered for the remaining female, please complete our puppy questionnaire so we can help you decideContinue reading “English Shepherd puppies!”

Puppy Day, part 2

Sunday we had a sudden rush of puppy buyers.  After a frenzy of filling out the puppy questionnaires and scheduling appointments, we were so happy to find good homes that suited all the puppies personalities.  Hazel, who was perfect for a farm, will be a working dog, driving cattle!  Nell, who is more laid backContinue reading “Puppy Day, part 2”

Puppy Day!

Farm Note for Week 20

This past week we began work on the next pasture for our proteins–which is also the site for a future big barn.  This involved me with a chainsaw a chunk of the day Saturday and my son Finn and I hauling pallets most of the day yesterday.  Thank you, Finn!  You are a dedicated andContinue reading “Farm Note for Week 20”

Spring puppies, lamb and kids

Newborn baby animals are my favorite part of spring!  Last night at 2:30am, after being in labor most of yesterday, Rosie (our English Shepherd) began giving birth.  When she was done she had nine new little puppies, six girls and three boys!  Coloring can change a little over time, but most of them are sable and white!Continue reading “Spring puppies, lamb and kids”

Puppies are all sold

We’re happy to report that all our puppies have found their homes for this year.  We always feel a sense of satisfaction when we can match a puppy with a good home.  This year we learned about the Volhard Puppy Test and used the test to evaluate the personality of the puppies.  We spend timeContinue reading “Puppies are all sold”
